Utah Wedding Magic

Your Guests Will Never Forget This Wedding

I bring people together through the art of magic, sparking genuine laughter and deep emotion for you and your guests. Serving Utah Valley weddings, LDS Receptions, as well as private parties and corporate events.

Up-Close Magic That Changes the Evening

Walk-Around Magic

Imagine magic happening right in your guests' hands. Using cards, coins, and everyday objects, I mingle through the crowd to spontaneously spark wonder between strangers.

Cocktail Hour

The perfect icebreaker. While the drinks flow, I bridge the gap between groups, creating shared talking points and ensuring no guest is ever standing alone in silence.

Reception Mingling

Filling the transitions between courses or as the party ramps up, I bring high-energy table magic that engages whole groups and generates laughter that fills the room.

Why a Wedding Mentalist?

Good question! You've probably got a DJ, a photographer, a caterer, and a florist. So why add a magician? The answer is: because almost everything at a wedding is for the couple. The flowers are for the couple. The cake is for the couple. The first dance is for the couple. All of it is beautiful, and all of it is perfect.

But magic? Magic is for your guests.

They traveled from all over to show how much they love you, to give you a magical day, and this is your chance to give them one in return.
People forget what your wedding colors were, what hors d'oeuvres you served, and even what the venue looked like, but they will never forget what they felt there. A real magical experience lasts a lifetime.
When I read a mind and tell someone the name of their childhood pet, that moment belongs to them. When a fork twists by itself in someone’s hand, that’s their story to tell. When I wander over to a table of folks who don't really know anyone, else and leave them laughing and connected — that's not a wedding detail, that’s not just entertainment. That is a human moment. That is a memory. And that's why I love weddings. They're already filled with love, I simply help create moments that become part of the story.

What I Do

You're busy planning a wedding. The last thing you need is another vendor who requires a stage, a microphone, an outlet, and a sound check.I need none of those things. I show up, I blend in, and I get to work.Instead of standing around checking their phones while photos are being taken, your guests become part of an unforgettable experience.
Long after the wedding, people may not remember what they ate...
But they'll remember the impossible thing they experienced together.
So, whether you're hosting cocktail hour at a venue, a reception in an LDS gym, or a backyard celebration in Orem, I'll be there mixing with the guests. I move from group to group, weaving in and out of conversations, and I leave every cluster of guests genuinely amazed. No stage. No interruptions. Just meaningful moments.

Why a Wedding Mentalist

The best weddings aren't just beautiful, they're alive.Guests are laughing together. Meeting new people, sharing stories, making memories. And that's where I come in.
Instead of standing around checking their phones while photos are being taken, your guests become part of an unforgettable experience.
One minute they're laughing.
The next they're questioning reality.
Moments later they're holding a bent piece of metal that shouldn't exist.
Those conversations continue throughout the evening.
Long after the wedding, people may not remember what they ate...
But they'll remember the impossible thing they experienced together.

Thanks so much for such a wonderful magic show last night! Everyone had so much fun and we are all still pondering on your magical powers. Thanks for making our family’s party so memorable!! It was fantastic in every way!- Debra P.

Ethan puts on a fabulous magic show! All of our guests were captivated by his wide range of illusions from mind reading to card tricks. He is funny and engaging, weaving historical and psychological stories into his performance. I can't wait to hire him for another magic show at our next party!

Ethan was the highlight of the night, captivating everyone with flawless mentalism. It blew the minds of even the biggest skeptics, leaving them trying to figure out how he did it. He kept everyone engaged, created unforgettable moments, and had guests talking about his performance long after the night was over.
Beyond his talent, he is personable, professional, and has a natural ability to connect with guests of all ages. I highly recommend Ethan for any event—he created an unforgettable experience we would book again without hesitation.- Rich B.

Ethan came to a private party I went to. I am definitely a skeptic and always try to figure out how things work. I was baffled, over and over by his show. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. He was so entertaining and I am still scratching my head about most of his act.

Questions People Usually Have

What’s it actually like to work with you?

I love doing this, and so I go out of my way to make sure you have a great experience (that I can perform at). I prefer phone calls or texts over emails when practical, and am okay with late night communication, though with 2 children of my own I might not respond. You'll always be communicating directly with me. I want you to have a relaxing wedding day, and your guests to have a memorable and fantastic experience!

Do you perform at other events besides just weddings?

Absolutely yes, I do. I love performing at parties in people's homes, at corporate events, and any other similar activity you have thought up. I have found that the title "Wedding Magician" does a pretty good job of letting people know that I am not a kids performer. I am family friendly, and love performing at events where kids are present. But the type of magic I practice - mind reading and psychological illusion - does not work well with children under 12 as the primary audience.

Is this appropriate for an LDS reception?

Absolutely. I'm not edgy, there's no adult content, nothing inappropriate. It's clean, it's joyful, and it works beautifully in cultural hall settings. Some of my favorite receptions have been in church buildings, they're great!

What kind of magic do you perform at weddings?

I specialize in close-up, interactive magic. This includes mind-reading, sleight-of-hand with cards and coins, and psychological illusions designed to break the ice and create shared wonder.

How many guests can you cover in one hour?

It depends- I will talk to you and make sure we find the right balance between spending enough time with each group to give a good experience, but being brief enough to get to as many people as possible. But, to provide an example, a typical cocktail hour or reception setting I can genuinely connect with most groups in a room of up to 60~ guests in an hour. If you've got a larger guest lists, book two or three hours and I'll make sure almost everyone gets a moment. An hour is rarely enough time for anything but the most intimate events.

Do you need any stage or special setup?

Nope. I need me, my props (in a small rolling cart the size of a suitcase), and your guests. I work entirely in the crowd. No tech, no sound system, nothing to set up or coordinate with your venue.

When is the best time for magic on the day?

During the reception or the cocktail hour. I can fill the 'dead time' while photos are being taken, and it keeps the energy high and guests engaged. For a reception in a cultural hall, it's great for while guests wait in the receiving line and as they mingle afterward

Do you travel for events outside of Utah?

While I primarily serve the Utah and Salt Lake valleys, I am available for destination weddings and corporate events nationwide, but o require transportation be paid by the client. Travel logistics are handled simply and transparently during the booking process.

How far in advance should we book?

Popular wedding dates in Utah often book up 6–12 months in advance. However, feel free to reach out for last-minute availability, I always do my best to accommodate magical connections whenever possible.

Will the magic be appropriate for all ages?

Absolutely. My performances are family-friendly and, while aimed at adults and older teens, are designed to fascinate everyone from younger flower girls to grandparents, ensuring no one is left out of the experience.

About

I am Ethan Williams. I have been practicing magic and mentalism for over 15 years. I have been married since 2017 to my amazing wife, and have a son and a daughter who are both just the best. I graduated college with a degree in Illustration, and in 2021 I started work as the UtahWeddingArtist. I do live wedding paintings of guests and capturing different scenes of the wedding day into a single panel. I thought to myself "I want to do courtroom sketches, but, like, happy." And, living in Provo at the time, thought "I could offer to paint at weddings!" I had seen a few live wedding painters in England, but none over here, and thought I'd take a try. I love doing it. As time has gone on, each time I am booked to do wedding portrait paintings, I fin myself thinking about how I can work magic tricks into my time there. But then I remembered that in Britain, having a magician at a wedding is as common as having a live band. And so I started performing magic at wedding receptions as well as small family and corporate parties and have loved it. I want to share the joy and wonder that magic can give with you.
